Street Trees

Street Tree Planting, Surveys, Funding and Watering

We work closely with the Barnet Green Spaces and Tree teams to help fund and support street tree planting and maintenance. We should have about 2500 suburb street trees, but numbers have been dwindling. There are currently over 350 vacant tree pits, and budget cuts are limiting replacement commitments by Barnet.

Our volunteers conduct annual street tree surveys to ensure suitable replacements, and step in where newly planted trees need additional watering during dry summers. It basically involves strolling around your Suburb area with a pleasant purpose in mind, so please get in touch if you can help: Trees@hgsra.uk

Sponsor a Tree in Our Streets and Parks

We need your help! The Residents Associations Trees & Open Spaces Committee is fundraising for about 20 replacement street trees in addition to Barnet Council’s tree planting each year.
